THE COLLECTIVE

Thrilled to see the results of hard work, motivation, and teamwork come to fruition.

This past semester I introduced the idea of making a fashion magazine for Appalachian State University. The idea of the magazine was to allow myself and my peers to explore the opportunities of the fashion industry.

The magazine was developed with a team that consists of an Editor-in-Chief, Creative Director, Stylist, Art Director, Editorial Director, and Social Media Director. We all collaborated to come up with a magazine that represents sustianble fashion, lifestyle and culture. We hoped to bring the learning outcomes we were receiving in our classrooms to life.

Despited the pandamic develop with the help of 15 other students in December 2020 we puplish our first student-run magazine. The Collective has to allowed us to develop ourselves through building valuable skills and exploring new ideas. This semester we are working on releasing a Spring edition; expanding with 20 new members, working with local businesses, and further integrating sustainability into the fashion industry.

Collaborating with the School of Commercial Photography has given us the opportunity to be the university’s first representation of fashion, “The Collective Fashion Magazine”.
